Zero fragrance
No fragrance, natural or synthetic, and no essential oils. Nothing in the jar is there to make it smell like anything.
Because sensitive skin likes simple.
Rich moisture from five ingredients. No fragrance, no essential oils, no water.

“Will this work for my skin?”
Made for dry, normal and sensitive-feeling skin. Patch test if you are unsure.
Eight short clips of the balm going on skin. We paid these creators to film it, so take it as a look at the texture rather than a review. Pick any one to watch it full size.
Paid partnership
For dry, normal and reactive skin. A simple balm made with five purposeful ingredients and without the common extras that can irritate skin.

No fragrance, natural or synthetic, and no essential oils. Nothing in the jar is there to make it smell like anything.

Tallow, beeswax, jojoba, calendula and vitamin E. Every one has a job, and the whole list is printed on the jar.

Dry, normal and sensitive skin. Fragrance is among the most common causes of contact irritation in skincare, and there is none of it here.

Grass-fed is common. Grass-finished is the part usually left out. The cattle stayed on pasture to the end.
Because it is naturally compatible with skin, it helps moisturize deeply, soften roughness and support a calm-looking barrier, without extra fragrance or unnecessary fillers.
Absorbs smoothly and helps skin feel soft, comfortable and nourished.
A simple, fragrance-free formula helps reduce the look of dryness and irritation.

Real ingredients, real impact
Shal Radiance Unscented Tallow Balm contains these five ingredients and nothing else. There is no water in the balm, so no microbial preservative is needed.
For decades, skincare was sold as an experience. Silky texture. Pretty packaging. That expensive department-store smell. And most of us never stopped to ask what the fragrance was actually doing for our skin.
And it turns out…
Fragrance is a common source of skin irritation and, for some people, can contribute to a weakened, unhappy skin barrier. So yeah… that beautiful-smelling cream might have been working against the very skin you bought it to help.
In case you didn’t know… now ya know.
The same balm on a face after shaving, on hands that are always in water, on skin that stretches through a pregnancy. No fragrance and no essential oils is what lets one jar do all of it. Acne-prone skin . Patch test first. For babies, or any diagnosed skin condition, ask your doctor first.
Made for sensitive skin.
Used through pregnancy.
Used on the whole family.

The two questions we get most: how do you use it, and how much? The amount depends on the area. Start small, then build coverage wherever your skin needs it.
What people tend to notice, and roughly when, based on averages.
Apply a small amount to the inner forearm, morning and night. Somewhere you will not wash it straight off.
* For sensitive skin we recommend you run a patch test: a small amount on the inner forearm, left 48 hours, with a second look about a week later since some reactions are delayed. Redness, itching or small bumps mean stop. Email us and we will refund it, tested jar and all.

Pea-sized for a small area, up to a quarter for larger ones. Tallow is solid at room temperature and melts at body heat, so warm it between your fingertips until it turns to oil.

Place small dabs where you want them: one under each eye, two on the forehead, one per cheek, one on the chin. Neck takes about five.

Rub the balm in until you are happy with the absorption and the feel. Move with intention. We recommend gua sha, over the face or the body.
On composition. The part you can verify from a label.

Sourcing is the page people go looking for when they are deciding whether to trust what goes on their face. It should not be hard to find.
The cattle were raised on pasture rather than in feedlots for the majority of their lives.
The cattle stayed on pasture through to the end, rather than moving onto grain for the final months. This is the part usually left unsaid.
The tallow is slowly rendered and filtered until it is clean and neutral. Nothing is added at any stage.
Shal Radiance Unscented Tallow Balm contains no water, so there is nothing in the jar for microbes to grow in. What the balm can do over time is oxidise, which is the reason tocopherol is in the formula.
Store the balm away from direct sun and away from heat. Tallow softens as it warms and firms again as it cools, which changes the texture but not the balm itself.
Use clean, dry fingers. Water introduced into the jar is the one thing that gives microbes somewhere to grow.
Unopened, the balm keeps for eighteen months from the date of manufacture. Once opened, use within twelve months. Rendered tallow is naturally stable and the vitamin E slows oxidation further, so the real signal is your nose: discard the balm if the smell turns sharp or sour, which is how oxidised tallow announces itself.
